We make the most of the Rangitikei River with its Grade 5 rapids; over 2 hours of exhilarating fun. Or maybe you wish to explore the scenic backcountry with friends by raft or inflatable kayak?
Otherwise, imagine yourself riding horseback throughout the rolling hills and testing your limits on the ridges of Pukeokahu, with the mountain, Aorangi, in full view? Our stables are home to 11 eccentric horses with their own personalities to suit any riding ability. But we aren’t just about invigorating whitewater rafting trips or pleasurable horsetrekking - there is a lot more tucked away in the valley. Comfortable bunkrooms for families or deluxe Ensuited accommodation (situated riverside or by the garden) ensure you recharge and feel revitalised for whatever the next day brings.
This could include a hike or simply lounging around the lodge vicinity taking in the sights, smells and sounds of Nature. Simply bring your loved ones down to the lodge, where you can have a spa or sauna, tasty food, fine wine and a warm welcome from staff. This was one of my most exhilarating experiences whilst in NZ. The countryside was amazing, the rafting a challenge (Grade 5 technical rapids), our guides were fantastic and even thought to call ahead to the lodge so that they could get the old wood fired sauna heated up! The best WWR trip I've been on. And if you stay the night at the lodge, make sure you get the hearty roast meal to finish off an awesome day.
Fantastic from start to finish! Of a four week adventure in New Zealand hunting down the best addrenalin rush I could find - no experience was better than a night at River Valley Lodge followed by rafting the next morning. The crew and staff were of the most memorable and enjoyable that my group of fellow travelers got to encounter. I will never forget it!
